Performance

The new Ford F-150 Lightning takes performance to a new level with its electric powertrain. Of course, the power output is contingent upon the brand's standard- and extended-range batteries. The standard-range battery produces 452 horsepower via dual electric motors. If that isn't enough, then the extended-range battery and dual electric motors go on to produce an estimated 580 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 miles per hour comes in 3.8 seconds. Acceleration is nearly instant when you press the pedal.

Battery and Charging

The truck delivers a smooth and refined drive. Handling and stability are easy and capable due to the truck's low center of gravity. Its low profile also helps control body roll, especially while cornering at higher speeds. The standard-range battery produces 98 kilowatts of power and delivers a driving range of 230 miles via full charge. The extended-range battery goes even further with its 131 kilowatts of power. This output helps to provide an estimated driving range of 320 miles on a full charge. Both batteries can be plugged into a Ford Charge Station Pro system. There's also a Mobile Power Cord that allows for charging while on the go. A 240-volt outlet is required, and it charges much faster than the standard 120-volt outlet.

Another great performance feature is the new Ford BlueCruise. This feature uses driver-assistance features to deliver hands-free operation while on the open road. Four-wheel drive capability and one-pedal driving are also available.

Features

The new Ford F-150 Lightning offers more than high performance. The truck is equipped with ProPower Onboard, which is a mobile generator. This generator is used to power your tools and other devices while working. If the power goes out in your neighborhood, the Ford F-150 Lightning will provide the necessary power to your home from the Ford Charge Station Pro. The extended-range battery through the Ford Charge Station Pro can power your home for at least three days; this can offer assistance and peace of mind in an emergency. The Ford Pass app comes in handy as it displays vital information from the Ford Charge Station Pro.

This truck can seat up to five people in its cabin. Trunk space is available at the vehicle's front end, and it accommodates many items. The software updates are automatically sent through cloud-based connectivity. Located in the center dash is a 15.5-inch touchscreen. This large display responds to voice activation, and numerous apps are built in for your enjoyment. You can answer the phone, read messages, or select audiobooks by touching the widgets.

The new Ford F-150 Lightning also accommodates for Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® features. Zone lighting and navigation are incorporated for convenience. Climate-control functions for the front seats to keep you and your passenger comfortable. There's also ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety

This pickup truck is packed with safety features from Auto High-Beam headlamps to a rearview camera. Safety prevention comes in the form of Evasive Steering Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Pedestrian Detection. Active Park Assist is also available.
